October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With nearly 200,000 diagnosed cases in 2006 (CDC), it’s likely you know someone affected by this disease. My grandmother fought and won with a single mastectomy. My husband’s cousin fought and won with a double mastectomy. And most recently, our daughters’ pediatrician (only in her late 30′s) fought and won. But in 2006, 41,000 women lost their battle with breast cancer.
